Like most BBQ-lovin' Americans, I look forward to gearing up for our annual July 4th party. Of course, any gathering at our house is not complete without a big plate of decorated cookies.

With this group I took a very traditional approach with an emphasis on stars and stripes in the red/white/blue palette.
The large round "fireworks" cookies are directly inspired by the current
cover.
(And they actually are as easy to make as she says they are!)
