Well Tate has done it again!
He managed to give me a run for my money party theme yet again!
This sweet family allows me every year to produce a great party for Tate.
Last year you may remember his Bug Party!
This year I got one word:
RAINFOREST
And I was like
huh?
A few days were spent tossing and turning trying to stay away from the typical "rainforest" type styling. And of course there was not much (actually no) inspiration out there in party land to inspire me.
That's when I decided to create my own smart, modern, yet child friendly design.
With the help of my right hand
We created the invitation to set the scene.
After that it all came together.
The party was held outdoors (yes, it was very HOT) at a new nature consevancy park.
So with that I kept the nature theme by using bamboo plates and and re-usable napkins I had made for each guest.
I marked off our area with bunting made from the same napkin material. Thanks to my cousin, Amanda for sewing her heart out.
I totally stole this "lollipop" style holder from Kim at the TomKat Studio.
I had seen it here in Kate's party. She's good with it, I asked!
I had originally intended to place these lollipops in galvanized buckets with the bunting connecting between 2 buckets lined along the picnic tables, but the wind was NOT my friend that day. So that idea was scratched and onward ho.
We all met at the park after school and Tate's Kindergarden class was ready to play.
After School Sssancks were Sssandwiches, Chipsss, and Izze. Ssssweet Tea for the grown ups of course and don't forget the ssstraws to sssip with.
paper cups and straws from Shop Sweet LuLu
The kids had a blast face painting,
making rainsticks and just running around in nature.
The highlight of the party was when the
arrived with his scaley friends and everybody lined up for a little show and tell.
Everyone enjoyed cupcakes by
with adorable rainforest friend cake pops.
The edible cupcake toppers were made by TwoSugarBabies.
Once again she went above and beyond the call of duty to please my wild requests.
Frogs, Snakes, Gorillas and Monkeys. Really. Who stocks that?!
The perfect touch were the 7 shaped snake cookies.
These delightful cookies were made by Mikah Beverly whom I stumbled upon last minute. She made these for me and I had a hissy-fit!!
As a thanksss for coming all guests took home a 3 foot snake
and a Sweet Skewer made by
Thank you to everyone above who helped bring this party to life. It was a fun party to create.
It was a blast watching the kids have fun and learn a little too.
Who knew snakes could be so much fun?!
I for one, was as far away as I could get my camera lense.
Really, I was the only one who let out the girly screams as the Snakes were unloaded!
